License Error After Logging In

HNTB has changed its ProjectWise licensing policies so that users are responsible for providing ProjectWise client licenses unless otherwise agreed to by HNTB. If after logging into ProjectWise you recieve an error 58510 Cannot login to the datasource, and the text of the error indicates a problem with the SELECTServer configuration, it means your machine is not configured with your Company's Bentley License Activation Key.

If you have recieved this error please contact your local support staff and ensure that your Bentley Activation Key has been properly entered in the License Tool. To enter the key in the license tool:

  • Open LicenseTool.exe in c:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\ProjectWise\Bin\
  • Preferrably run LicenseTool.exe as administrator
  • Go to the Tools menu and select Activation Wizard
  • Fill out the information per your local support instructions, the options you select are dependent on your company's settings and will differ from HNTB's settings.
  • After entering your information try logging in with ProjectWise again.
