To be able to connect to HNTB's ProjectWise datasources you must first
configure the ProjectWise Network Control Panel.
The screenshots in these instructions may not be an exact match to the version you have
installed, but the configuration is the same. Differences in UI will be pointed out.
NOTE!
HNTB Employees should NOT follow these instructions, your ProjectWise connections will be slower.
Configuration Instructions
Open ProjectWise Explorer
Select Tools > Network Configuration Settings...
General tab:
Turn ON: Prevent UDP for DNS and Listing
Turn OFF: Cache Network Topology
The Cache Network Topology checkbox is only available on ProjectWise 2023 and later
Turn OFF: IPv6 Enabled
Turn OFF: IPv6 Preferred
DNS Services tab:
Enter new server information:
Name:
HNTB
Hostname:
pw-gw.hntb.com
Port:
5800
Click the Add button
Once added, click the Test connection button to verify everything was entered correctly.
Datasource Listing tab (same as the DNS Services tab):
Enter new server information:
Name:
HNTB
Hostname:
pw-gw.hntb.com
Port:
5800
Click the Add button
Once added, click the Test connection again button to verify everything was entered correctly.
Click the Save button and close the dialog
ProjectWise Explorer 10.00.03.453 has the ability to save usernames/passwords in the iDesktop
Auto-Login tab. Do NOT use this. It can be very difficult to fix when your password changes.
